Experience and passion for over 90 years in the candles production.
Cereria Ferrario – The beginnings
The Company started business in 1925, when the wax factory, where its founder Luigi Ferrario worked, closed downand he decided to go into business for himself.
All started out with a small moulding machine for grave lights candles, a tank for melting paraffin and a rented out small basement and a lot of of sacrifices.
ELAS – The first brand
Few items bearing the “ELAS” brand. Articles made, packaged and delivered by hand, even many kilometres away with a three wheel cart pulled by a bicycle.
With family help and above all, thanks to the quality of the candles and the service offered, the number of customers grew and with them the range of items: stearic candles, church candles, votive candles and similar products.
The company moved to new office and later, in the 1950’s, to his own new building. More employees and new machinery was purchased.
The company moved to the current production site around 1990.
A new, bigger, modern factory
Today the company, directed by the third generation, can store over one hundred tons of liquid was in its tanks. It uses completely automatic machines with lines able to produce up to 20,000 candles per hour for customers beyond national and European borders.
Over the traditional items which have become more and more perfect, the range has been expanded to include scented and citronella candles.
Today: passion and research
The first “ELAS” brand has been joined by: “PRESENZA®”, a grave lights candles line, “PRESENZA FIDEI”, a specific brand for churches and religious institutions, “FIACCOLA PARTY”, citronella and torches candles for outdoor use, “LIGHTS & FRAGRANCES®” an exclusive scented candles for those looking for a high quality product in perfume shops and spa centres.
Much has changed over the years, but some things have remained the same: our passion for our work, our search for high quality products, and especially, the services provided to our customers which are and will remain, by choice and as much as possible, those of a small family business.
